When it comes to Orange County Horse Properties, Yorba Linda is where you can get some of the best value for your money. It has a very robust horse community where you can connect with other like-minded equestrians.
Phillip S. Paxton Equestrian Center
The equestrian community tends to ride and connect at the local equestrian center because most homes do not have working space in their yards. This facility is named the Paxton Equestrian Center and is located at 18611 Buena Vista Ave. It boasts an immaculately maintained large arena, small arena, and fully enclosed round pen. For parking, there is a large, sand lot where trailers typically park and up above that is a paved lot, where most of the cars park. All totaled it is about 5 acres in size. The facility cannot really be seen from Buena Vista so when you are driving there, if you blink, you can miss the driveway entirely. Even though the facility gets a lot of use, it also gets a lot of care.
Horse Properties Described
Most horse properties in Yorba Linda sit on about half an acre, give or take a little. In order to be a horse property, the property needs to be zoned as Residential Estate or Residential Agriculture. The minimum lot size is 11,000sf for one horse, 15,000sf for two, 19,000 for 3 and half an acre for 4 horses. If someone owns an acre, the zoning is 6 horses per acre. The horse set up needs to be 50ft from the closest habitable space. Most of the horses reside on the west side of the city with the heaviest concentration in the neighborhoods surrounding the Equestrian Center. Horse properties can be found as far east as Travis Ranch which is more in the middle of Yorba Linda proper.
